LM Studio runs on localhost:1234, so it gets classified as Ollama.\\n\\n**Fix:** Check Hermes config providers dict first (exact base_url match), then fall back to port-based detection (1234=LM Studio, 11434=Ollama):\\n\\n```python\\n# First check: does the active Hermes config have a provider entry matching this base_url?\\n_cfg_providers = cfg.get(\\\"providers\\\", {})\\nif isinstance(_cfg_providers, dict):\\n for _pid, _pcfg in _cfg_providers.items():\\n if isinstance(_pcfg, dict):\\n _p_base = (_pcfg.get(\\\"base_url\\\") or \\\"\\\").strip().rstrip(\\\"/\\\")\\n if _p_base and _p_base == base_url.rstrip(\\\"/\\\"):\\n provider = _pid\\n break\\n\\n# Fallback: port-based detection\\nif provider == \\\"custom\\\":\\n if port == 1234 or \\\"lmstudio\\\" in host:\\n provider = \\\"lmstudio\\\"\\n elif \\\"ollama\\\" in host or port == 11434:\\n provider = \\\"ollama\\\"\\n```\\n\\n---\\n\\n## Bug 2: Auto-detected models missing at-provider prefix\\n\\n**Location:** `get_available_models()` — group building loop (~line 997-1030)\\n\\n**Root cause:** Two issues:\\n1. `_PROVIDER_MODELS` elif branch only uses static model list, not auto-detected models from API\\n2. Old code skipped prefix for model IDs containing \\\"/\\\" (e.g. `qwen/qwen3.5-35b-a3b`)\\n\\n**Fix:** Merge auto-detected models into `_PROVIDER_MODELS` list before prefixing:\\n\\n```python\\nraw_models = list(_PROVIDER_MODELS[pid])\\n# Merge in auto-detected models\\n_static_ids = {m[\\\"id\\\"] for m in raw_models}\\nfor m in auto_detected_models:\\n if m[\\\"id\\\"] not in _static_ids:\\n raw_models.append(m)\\n _static_ids.add(m[\\\"id\\\"])\\n\\n# Always prefix for non-default providers (only skip if already has @)\\nif _active and pid != _active:\\n for m in raw_models:\\n mid = m[\\\"id\\\"]\\n if mid.startswith(\\\"@\\\"):\\n models.append(m)\\n else:\\n models.append({\\\"id\\\": f\\\"@{pid}:{mid}\\\", \\\"label\\\": m[\\\"label\\\"]})\\n```\\n\\n---\\n\\n## Bug 3: Existing sessions store bare model name without prefix\\n\\n**Location:** Session JSON files in the WebUI sessions directory\\n\\n**Root cause:** Sessions created before the fix store bare model names without `@lmstudio:` prefix. On next chat, `resolve_model_provider()` sees no prefix and routes to default provider (zai).\\n\\n**Fix:** Bulk update all session files — add `@lmstudio:` prefix to any qwen/gemma model IDs.\\n\\n---\\n\\n## Bug 4 (CRITICAL): `_get_named_custom_provider()` short-circuits on \\\"lmstudio\\\" → falls through to OpenRouter\\n\\n**Location:** `hermes_cli/runtime_provider.py` — `_get_named_custom_provider()` (~line 278-284)\\n\\n**Root cause:** The function checks if a provider name is a \\\"real\\\" builtin provider by calling `auth_mod.resolve_provider()`. If no error is raised, it returns `None` (meaning \\\"it's builtin, don't check config.yaml\\\").\\n\\nBut \\\"lmstudio\\\" is aliased to `\\\"custom\\\"` in `auth.py` (line 989: `\\\"lmstudio\\\": \\\"custom\\\"`). So `resolve_provider(\\\"lmstudio\\\")` succeeds without error — returns \\\"custom\\\". The function sees no error → returns None → never checks config.yaml `providers.lmstudio` → everything falls through to `_resolve_openrouter_runtime()` as last resort.\\n\\n**Symptom in request dump:**\\n```\\nURL: https://openrouter.ai/api/v1/chat/completions\\nAuth: Bearer <zai-api-key>\\nModel: qwen/qwen3.5-35b-a3b\\n```\\nThe ZAI API key gets sent to OpenRouter because the ZAI key is the first valid credential found during fallback.\\n\\n**Fix:** When `resolve_provider()` returns `\\\"custom\\\"`, don't short-circuit — continue to check config.yaml providers dict:\\n\\n```python\\nif not requested_norm.startswith(\\\"custom:\\\"):\\n try:\\n _resolved_builtin = auth_mod.resolve_provider(requested_norm)\\n except AuthError:\\n pass\\n else:\\n # \\\"custom\\\" is an alias for local servers (lmstudio, ollama, vllm,\\n # etc.) that are typically defined in config.yaml providers dict.\\n # Don't short-circuit — continue to check for a user-defined\\n # provider entry matching the original name (e.g. \\\"lmstudio\\\").\\n if _resolved_builtin != \\\"custom\\\":\\n return None\\n```\\n\\n**Diagnostic approach for this bug:**\\n1. Check request dump: if URL is `openrouter.ai` but model is `qwen/*` → this bug\\n2. Check `HERMES_INFERENCE_PROVIDER=custom:lmstudio` env var → should be correct\\n3. Check `auth.json` `active_provider: lmstudio` → should be correct\\n4. The config is RIGHT but runtime_provider.py never reaches the config check because it short-circuits\\n5. Same bug affects any local server alias: lmstudio, ollama, vllm, llamacpp, llama.cpp\\n\\n---\\n\\n## Verification\\n\\n1. Check /api/models endpoint — LM Studio models should show with `@lmstudio:` prefix\\n2. Test resolve_model_provider(\\\"@lmstudio:qwen/qwen3.5-35b-a3b\\\") returns provider=lmstudio\\n3. Test resolve_runtime_provider(requested=\\\"lmstudio\\\") returns base_url pointing to localhost:1234\\n4. Check bootstrap log after sending a chat — should show Provider: lmstudio, not zai\\n\\n---\\n\\n## Pitfalls\\n\\n- **__pycache__ caching:** After editing api/config.py, ALWAYS clear pycache dirs before restarting, otherwise old bytecode runs\\n- **Port still in use:** When restarting WebUI, kill ALL processes on port 8787 first. A new process silently fails if port is still occupied by old one — check with `lsof -i :8787`\\n- **Embedding models:** Filter out embedding models from auto-detection (they crash the chat endpoint). Check for \\\"embed\\\" in model ID.\\n- **resolve_runtime_provider returns empty api_key for lmstudio:** Expected behavior — LM Studio does not need a real API key\\n\\n---\\n\\n## Key Files\\n\\n- WebUI api/config.py — Provider detection + model list + resolve_model_provider()\\n- WebUI api/streaming.py — Where AIAgent is instantiated with resolved provider\\n- WebUI api/routes.py — Chat endpoint reads model from session or request body\\n- Hermes config.yaml — providers.lmstudio section with base_url and api_key\\n- WebUI sessions directory — Session JSON files with stored model name\\n\", \"path\": \"hermes/hermes-webui-lmstudio-routing/SKILL.md\", \"skill_dir\": \"/Users/rose/.hermes/skills/hermes/hermes-webui-lmstudio-routing\", \"linked_files\": null, \"usage_hint\": null, \"required_environment_variables\": [], \"required_commands\": [], \"missing_required_environment_variables\": [], \"missing_credential_files\": [], \"missing_required_commands\": [], \"setup_needed\": false, \"setup_skipped\": false, \"readiness_status\": \"available\"}",

This causes confusion when users want to switch models via the WebUI.\\n\\n## Root Cause\\nThe WebUI provider list is built from `config.yaml` entries, but LM Studio providers are often named differently (e.g., \\\"lmstudio\\\" vs \\\"local\\\") or missing from the UI rendering logic in `providers.html`.\\n\\n## Solution Steps\\n\\n### 1. Check config.yaml for LM Studio entry\\n```yaml\\nproviders:\\n lmstudio:\\n type: local\\n url: http://localhost:1234/v1\\n models:\\n - qwen/qwen3.5-35b-a3b\\n```\\n\\n### 2. Verify WebUI provider rendering\\nFile: `~/.hermes/webui/templates/providers.html` (or similar)\\n\\nLook for the `<select>` element that renders providers. It should include ALL configured providers, not just cloud ones.\\n\\n### 3. Fix UI to show LM Studio\\nIf missing, add:\\n```html\\n<select name=\\\"provider\\\" id=\\\"providerSelect\\\">\\n {% for provider_name, provider_config in config.providers.items() %}\\n <option value=\\\"{{ provider_name }}\\\">{{ provider_name }}</option>\\n {% endfor %}\\n</select>\\n```\\n\\n### 4. Test\\n1. Open `http://localhost:8787`\\n2. Go to Settings → Model/Provider section\\n3. Verify LM Studio appears in dropdown\\n4. Select a model and test chat\\n\\n## Verification\\n- [ ] LM Studio shows in provider selector\\n- [ ] Can switch between local and cloud providers\\n- [ ] Model list updates correctly when switching providers\", \"path\": \"hermes/lmstudio-provider-ui-fix/SKILL.md\", \"skill_dir\": \"/Users/rose/.hermes/skills/hermes/lmstudio-provider-ui-fix\", \"linked_files\": null, \"usage_hint\": null, \"required_environment_variables\": [], \"required_commands\": [], \"missing_required_environment_variables\": [], \"missing_credential_files\": [], \"missing_required_commands\": [], \"setup_needed\": false, \"setup_skipped\": false, \"readiness_status\": \"available\"}",

"content": "Fix funktioniert.
